Fast Moon
So, I had this dream a couple nights ago that Discord had trapped me and a group of people in this maze-house thing.  Fortunately, John Barrowman was part of that group of people.  Even more fortunately, it turned out he was a firebender.  I felt this dream needed to be immortalized in gif form.

What would this ship be?  Linnant?

What would this ship be?  Linnant?

I realized I’d missed a frame in the animation of the other two, so that’s been fixed, plus the addition of Bolin.

More to come.  These two were all I had time for tonight.

The Medical Applications of Bloodbending

Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra both portrayed bloodbending as this wicked art that could only be used for evil, to the point of having the practice banned in Korra’s timeframe.  But… let’s not be too hasty about this.

Bloodbending is the ability to manipulate a person’s fluid-bearing organs, right?  Wouldn’t that kind of ability be a massive asset to a doctor?

Someone has a large wound?  No problem, bloodbending will keep them from bleeding to death.  Pneumonia?  We’ll bend that fluid right out of your lungs.  Heart attacks, strokes, aneurysms, pleurisy… hell, it could probably even be used for completely non-invasive surgery, and applying something like Toph’s seismic sense to bloodbending would be even more effective than an MRI.

I’m just wondering if Aang was aware of the positive applications of bloodbending when he banned it, deciding that the risk of its misuse outweighed its benefits, or if he honestly thought no good could ever come of it.

That’s it, Book 2 of Korra needs to have a bloodbending doctor in it for the sweet, sweet cognitive dissonance.

I’m going straight to hell for this.

I’m going straight to hell for this.

Then This Happened

I was attempting to cut out the pan in the kiss scene in the end by arranging all the frames so that the background held steady.  Strangely, even though the background was steady, they were still moving.  Uh…

(yes, I know this is caused by perspective where the foreground moves faster than the background in a motion shot, but the end result was too amusing not to share)

Soo, I decided to make it a gif, too.

Was gonna make this a gif, but having the audio with it is just so, so much better.

The Air Nomad Councilman

Okay, so, on the council with Sokka is this guy, an Air Nomad.

But, wait, who is this guy?  Tenzin is 9 years old at this point.  I know Aang founded the Air Acolytes, but this guy must be pretty important to him if Aang nominated him to represent the Air Nomads on the council, when Aang himself would have been the more logical choice considering, you know, he actually is one.

I thought his presence was interesting, but then when Yakone starts bloodbending everyone, check this out:

Wharr Air Nomad Councilman, WHARR?
